Mountain palms can be multiplied from seeds themselves. The multiplication is however somewhat more complicated and takes above all very long. How to get seeds, and how to make a young mountain palm out of it.

It is a tedious task to multiply a mountain palm yourself. It sometimes takes several months for the seed to germinate. You need a lot of patience until you have pulled a small mountain palm.
Since mountain palms are quite cheap in trade, it is only worthwhile for real palm fans to multiply these palm trees themselves.
Harvest or buy seeds yourself
In the trade you get seeds for mountain palms, sometimes in other than the common varieties.
However, mountain palms are already blooming in the house after two to three years.If you want to harvest seeds, you need more than one plant because the mountain palm is either female or male.
Flourish your palms, brush with a brush several times over the inflorescences to fertilize them. When the flowers have dried up, the seeds form in them. They are ready for harvest if they are black or fall off.
Water seeds before sowing
The seed of the mountain palm has a very hard shell. Leave the seeds in lukewarm water for at least 48 hours before sowing them.

Tips
As a plant substrate for mountain palms, a mixture of compost with Lauberde or, if necessary, peat has proven itself. This earth stores enough water and supplies the mountain palm with all the necessary nutrients.
