The Bergminze likes to stand in the sun
The Bergminze loves a sunny location
Bergminze, also called stone quenelle, is an easy-care, perennial shrub. The green leaves are a popular seasoning herb. In a favorable location, the leaves get a particularly intense aroma and exude, especially when touched a strong scent of peppermint.
Sunny and not too dry
Bergminze is native to the Mediterranean region. She therefore loves a location in the middle of the sun. Only there, the leaves get the typical mint flavor. Also, only in a sunny spot develop many of the pretty blue flowers that bloom into autumn.
The soil should be sandy and permeable to water, because waterlogging does not tolerate mountain mint at all. However, the soil must never completely dry out and must be watered regularly.
If mountain mint is pulled in the bucket or balcony box, the planter should be placed in a full sun.
Tips
Bergminze tends to spread through foothills. Therefore, when planting a root barrier or put the herb immediately in a bucket or balcony box.
