Balcony box mount bracket yourself - so it succeeds
A sober balcony railing turns into a lush flowering eye-catcher when attached to a flower box. Since the combination of vessel, soil and plants considerable weight, the holder must be designed to be stable. This guide explains how to build a metal balcony box bracket yourself.
Material procurement and processing
In advance, you measure the strength of your balcony border precisely. For the procurement of the right material, you go to a hardware store or a metalworking shop of your trust. There you will buy 2 steel sheets per planter with the following dimensions:
In metal operation, bend each steel sheet into a U-shape. It is important to note that the short side should be about 20 cm long. The long sides of the steel sheets give you another 'U', matching the bottom width to the width of the flower box, which will be placed here later.
According to this scheme, the remaining steel sheets are shaped until you have 2 brackets for each flower box. If it is about 100 cm long and more, we recommend a third bracket for the center.
Attach bracket - that's how it works
You can now hang the finished brackets at home on the balcony railing. Place the shaped sheets so that they fix a balcony box to the left and right by a few centimeters. Please note that these brackets only prevent a planter from falling from the railing to the ground. Do not put an empty plastic box in the brackets as strong winds could literally lift it off its hinges.
Tips
If you are building a wooden flower box yourself, think of the right bracket during construction. Screw right and left and in the middle of the balcony box bent brackets, with the help of which you can safely hang the vessel on the railing.
