How to build a simple stream of concrete
A rippling through the garden brook can be created in various ways. A very simple method is to lay out ready-made brook bowls. On the other hand, a stream bed made of concrete can be designed a little more creatively and thus more individually, since the forms are not already given here.
Planning and preparatory activities
Before the construction comes first of all the careful planning, so that the brook later actually meanders as desired through the garden. Precise planning and execution is especially important when working with concrete. After all, mistakes can not be straightened so quickly here - the material is difficult to remove or even correct. You should pay particular attention to this when planning and preparing your project:
In addition, you should have sand / gravel and natural stones (eg pebbles of different sizes) and bank or water plants in stock. The concrete streambed can then be designed naturally with these materials.
Create stream and concretes
Before lifting the streambed, mark the exact location of the streamlet first, laying out the line using a rope or the like has often proved helpful. At best, you have already outlined the concrete measures and the course of events in a plan; if necessary, this can still be corrected after a visual check.
Do not forget to waterproof the concrete. This can be done by adding sealing powder or covering the finished pouring plant with sealing sludge or liquid pond liner. Allow the material to dry well before flooding the streambed with water.
Tips
Push the natural stones into the still wet concrete, so they keep better after curing.
