Araucaria in the field and bucket overwinter correctly!
Older Araucaria trees that already grow in the garden for several years survive cold winters quite well. Younger trees, on the other hand, should protect you from frost. In the bucket pulled monkey trees you must always overwinter frost-free.

In addition to the cold, the dryness of frozen soil makes the monkey tree particularly difficult. Especially young trees need a good winter protection. Their roots are not yet mature enough to survive a severe winter.
Create a thick mulch cover of straw, leaves, grass clippings or similar materials around the tree.
Cover the tree with jute, brushwood or winter fleece to protect the needles from frost.
Hibernate a monkey tree in a bucket
Maintain Araucaria in the tub, place the container over winter in a light, frost-free place. Temperatures should not fall below ten degrees.
Tips
If you want to grow offshoots from seeds, only buy seeds that come from trees that are awake in Germany. These are more hardy and can handle frost better.
