Not everyone may have the money to buy several sweetgum trees. Since it would be a much cheaper alternative to pull this plant itself from seeds or multiply by means of socket wood. But how does that work?
Propagation via plywood
Fast and not very expensive is the propagation of Steckhölzer. Compared to sowing this method is recommended for the hobby gardener. The time for this increase has come in the fall between the end of September and mid-October.
First you need sticks. You can win these in the course of the pruning of an older Amberbaum. It should be at the Steckholz a 1 to 2 years old and 15 to 20 cm long shoots. If you have found a shoot with at least two buds, cut it off at an angle. The shoot tip is removed.

Sowing is time-consuming and not recommended. The main reason: The seeds of the Amberbaums are cold germs and need a stratification. Furthermore, most seeds in self-collected fruits are sterile and thus not germinable. The fewest seeds are fertile. Therefore, rather buy the seeds in specialist shops!
This is how sowing with seeds from own harvest works:
1. Sow seeds in seed soil, keep moist at 20 ° C for 2 to 4 weeks

3. Actual sowing: sow seeds, keep moist and place in cool place
When the cotyledons are visible, you can make the plants warmer. But beware: you should not be exposed to direct sunlight. Only when they have already developed several pairs of leaves, it is time to get used to the sun and to plant outside.
