The moderately caring Alocasia (arrow leaf) is drawn not because of their flowering, but because of the interesting shaped, many-colored leaves as a houseplant. The flowers are rather unspectacular in most varieties and should therefore be cut immediately.

On the flower is easy to see that the Alocasia belongs to the arum family. It consists of a sepal, from which the piston grows out. In most varieties, the sepal has a light green color while the bulb is yellowish in color.
In contrast to the usually very colorful and eye-catching leaves, the flower is rather inconspicuous. It is therefore usually cut off immediately.
Tips
The inflorescences of Alocasia should always cut off the same. They rob the plant of unnecessary force. In addition, the berries from the fertilizing flowers are highly poisonous. Always wear gloves when cutting, so that the latex does not get on the skin.
