The most beautiful types of teas
The easy-care tagetes are among the most popular flowering plants in our gardens. There are over sixty varieties of this pretty flower that can grow up to eighty inches tall and bloom in different colors from yellow to orange to red. Three species are extremely common and we would like to briefly introduce them to you below.
The Upright Marigold (Tagetes erecta)
This Tagetes makes very full flowers, whose flattened hemispheres can reach a diameter of up to 13 centimeters. The plant itself has a stature height between 45 and 80 centimeters. The deep dark green leaves are strongly indented and jagged and with a length of 15 centimeters a true eye candy. The inflorescences of Upright Tagetes are also very good in the vase and are therefore popular cut flowers.
The golden yellow marigold (Tagetes patula)
This species forms very many small flowers whose diameter is about six inches. Depending on the hybrid variety, these are colored yellow, orange, red or purple-brown and are half full or filled. Particularly attractive are those specimens in which the flower is bicoloured. The plant reaches a height of between twenty and sixty centimeters. The leaves are relatively small. This Tagetesart is very popular like planting a border border, container plant or interplanting planted in the vegetable patch.
The narrow-leaved marigold (Tagetes tenuifolia)
This variety has the smallest flowers with a diameter of only 2.5 centimeters. Since it flowers very abundantly and is only thirty centimeters high, it is a very delicate jewelry in the perennial or herbal bed. It branches out strong and grows spherical. It looks like a bright orange-red flower ball and is a beautiful eye-catcher.
Tips
All kinds of spices are edible. These varieties taste very fragrant with citrus or licorice. Due to the fruity-sweet aroma, these marigolds go well with summer salads, herbal vinegar and desserts.
