Prefer the marigold - a little guide
You can put Tagetes on the window sill as early as March so that they pick up the flowers after the icy sacred flowers and decorate the spring garden with their bright orange tones. The offspring of seeds succeed completely without problems, provided that you consider some important points.
The required materials
Plan Tagetes itself is preferable to gain seeds from the gardening plants already in the fall. Leave some flower heads on the marigold until they dry out. Carefully clip off and place on a piece of kitchen paper for about a week. Once the flowers are completely dry, you can gently pull out the seeds.

With the offspring you can start at the end of February or the beginning of March. Proceed as follows:
In these conditions, sowing is rapid and often after one week the first germ buds appear. Do not forget to air daily. This prevents mold and decay. If necessary, water the seedlings with the sprayer.
The Pikieren
So that the plantlets do not dispute each other's space in the culture container after some time, they are piqued as soon as the second pair of leaves shows up. Using a stick, gently lift the small tagetes out of the culture dish and place each marigold in its own flower pot filled with a potting soil and sand mixture.
Place the pots in a bright but not full sun on the windowsill. A cover is no longer necessary. Here, the marigolds develop into vigorous young plants, which you can plant in the garden after the ice saints.
Tips
Extracting the elongated seeds can become a Sisyphean task. Just put all the seeds in a plastic bag, blow them up a little and shake the bag vigorously. The seed separates from the pods and can be easily removed.
