Why does my holly lose its leaves?
If a plant loses its leaves, this is always a warning sign, even with holly. Rarely, however, is there an illness behind or infestation by pests. Mostly, mistakes in casting are the cause or a wrong location.
A first warning sign - discolored leaves
Before the holly leaves its leaves, their leaves turn yellow. Ideally, you are already reacting and preventing worse. In most cases, a lack or an excess of moisture is the reason for the yellow or brown leaves. The Ilex does not tolerate waterlogging or prolonged dry periods really well.
So check the ground. If it is wet, then you should not pour your holly or less for some time. If the earth is dry, then pour the Ilex extensively. You may also flush the leaves of the plant with water.
