Lay the foundation for life
Spinach can be sowed twice a year. Even though there are about 50 different spinach varieties today, these are similar in their basic requirements and claims. In mild regions, spinach can be sown outdoors from the end of February. Otherwise, the culture begins between March and May. To save the spinach from excessive late frost, it can be covered with a foil as a precautionary measure. If you like his self-grown spinach plants, you can sow them a second time between August and September. It is also possible to prefer spinach under glass in domestic homes.
The spinach seeds usually remain viable for three to four years. They are dark germs and should therefore be placed between 1 and 3 cm deep in the ground. From row to row, it is important to maintain a distance of at least 15 cm. Between the individual spinach plants a distance of 5 cm is sufficient. Then the earth is tapped or stuck so that the germs can root well.
After vigorous casting, the soil should be kept moist in the coming period. Within 7 to 14 days, the seeds begin to germinate and a taproot slowly forms.

Cover the soil with compost before sowing and loosen it well. It is not advisable to use a fertilizer after planting and during the growth of the spinach, since this considerably increases both the nitrate and the oxalic acid content in the spinach. Both substances are harmful in higher concentrations to the human organism.
