How do you overwinter Sundew?

Domestic Drosera is hardy. The rosettes attract and plants form winter buds, which expel in the spring. A special wintering is therefore not necessary.

Sundew species that are not hardy can be kept in the room all year round. Some varieties prefer a hibernation, in which the temperatures must be kept lower. They also use less water during this time.

Other Drosera varieties need consistent temperatures and sufficient light throughout the year. If in doubt, ask which form of hibernation is recommended for your plant.

Tips

Even hardy Drosera species like it, if they can enjoy in the summer for a few weeks fresh air on the balcony or terrace. But make sure that the plants do not dry out.
