After the quinces have been carefully transported to the storeroom, further details are to be considered. First, these fruits should never rest together with other varieties. They always give off intense aromas. These are very easy to transfer to other fruits. Furthermore, a precise control of the fruit on bruises is necessary. Only quinces in top condition are suitable for storage.
Choose a place that will surely remain frost-free. The ideal temperature for successful storage is 0 to 2 degrees Celsius.
