Can the dog eat pomelo?
Since dogs are omnivores, unlike their ancestors, the wolves, most of them love fruits and vegetables, especially the sweet fruit, of course. However, dog owners should provide, because many so healthy for humans varieties can have fatal consequences for the furry four-legged friends. In contrast to grapes, avocados and raw potatoes, however, the vitamin-rich pomelos are safe for dogs.
Extra portion of vitamin C
The Pomelo, a modern cross between grapefruit and grapefruit, contains a lot of vitamin C and a number of B-series vitamins. However, the crossbred product tastes significantly milder than the two types of origin and is therefore taken with pleasure by dogs. You can hand your four-legged friend the fruit carvings either neat or together with other fruits as a fruit salad or fruit porridge. But you should peel the pomelo and thoroughly rid of the thick white layer (which is called Albedo) and the tough hides between the juice sacs. These ingredients have a bitter taste and therefore should not be consumed - neither human nor animal.
Tips & Tricks
Many dogs also like other citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons or tangerines. Grapefruit and grapefruit are also often used by some dogs.
