The right planting distance for peppers
Too tight plants are among the most common mistakes in pepper cultivation. The space requirement of adult plants determines the optimal planting distance, which is to be observed when planting peppers.
Plan the planting distance properly
Whether in the greenhouse or outdoors - peppers must not disturb each other at their location. In the field, a distance between the rows of 80 centimeters is ideal. So you can easily go through between the rows and maintain the peppers regularly. For the individual plants in the row it is recommended to leave 50 cm free.
The distance in the greenhouse must be planned differently. Because there is no room for rows, the peppers are planted diagonally at a distance of 50 cm. If you want to be sure, put a spacer of appropriate length on the planting hole. You do not have to worry about the planting distance when it comes to peppers in pots.
Tips & Tricks
It is important that each plant receives a stable rod for support. For example, a bamboo stick is suitable for stabilization. This will not make the peppers too heavy and do not kink.
