Pull the offshoot of laurel itself
The real laurel is not only a practical and sizable container plant for use as a healing and spice herb after harvesting the leaves. With a corresponding increase, it can also be used for planting hedges along sunny walls in mild locations.
Laurel by propagating cuttings
An increase of the real laurel from cuttings is advantageous for various reasons. Since the laurel can achieve very good growth with good care, you should cut it back regularly into the desired shape. However, when cut comfortably, the relatively large leaves are cut unsightly with an electric hedge trimmer so that they subsequently become brown and susceptible to disease. An alternative is the manual cutting of individual branches with pruning shears, whereby the resulting branches can be used as cuttings. These are rooted either in a glass of water or in a growing substrate. In the latter method, you should put small plastic cups over the branches to increase the humidity.
Use root extensions for propagation
With a cultivation of laurel in the field or in the pot it can come also completely unexpectedly to a natural formation of Wurzelausläufern. Should these leave the radius of your choice at a location, you can use them for propagation. Cut off the shoots with a piece of root and place them in a sunny spot or in a pot on the balcony. In the first few weeks after removal from the mother plant, ensure adequate water supply.
