Which location prefers the pasque?
The pasque is one of the most popular early flowering plants in the garden. With their intensely colored flowers and the silvery hairy foliage, they set charming accents throughout the year. If the Pulsatilla settles down, it hardly needs care and even proliferates on its own.
The demands on the location
The pasque prefers a sunny garden square, where the ground warms up in early spring. Wet and cold locations and waterlogging must be avoided at all costs.
The soil should be as nutrient-poor, alkaline-rich, calcareous and well permeable to water. Basenreich means that sufficient calcium, potassium, magnesium and sodium must be dissolved in the soil. These nutrients are required by the cowbell to grow strong and healthy. Well suited are mother soils with a natural sand content. Here, a self-regulation of nutrient content takes place, which the cowbell very likes.
Tips
These special soil claims make the Pulsatilla a grateful rock garden plant. Make sure, however, that you put the pasque in a sheltered rock garden sheltered from the wind.
