This is how you simply grow coriander in the house
While it can be scarce in a direct sowing of coriander with the seed harvest, the cultivation in the house provides a significant growth advantage. Here we explain in a practical way how to easily grow the Mediterranean spice plant at home.
The best time and recommended breeding pots
So that the cultivation works in the house like clockwork, the time will be chosen carefully. In order to replant vital and compact young plants in the bed, the sowing in the house must not start before March. Otherwise, the sprouts spoil due to the dark lighting conditions.
Since preferred coriander plants do not like to move, we recommend sowing in peat pots. These can later be planted together with the root ball in the bed and pot. This significantly reduces the stress on the plants and keeps them happy.

The fresher the seed, the faster germination will take place. The extent to which soaking the seeds has a beneficial effect here is the subject of controversial discussion among hobby gardeners. This is how you approach the project step by step:
Ideally, a room greenhouse is available to set up the seed pots in it. Alternatively, put a plastic bag over each pot. In half shady place at temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees Celsius, germination begins within 1 week. The plastic hood has now fulfilled its task and falls away.
Planting seedlings - how to do it right
If there are no more ground frosts in the field, plant the seedlings in the bed. Choose a sunny to partially shaded location. The soil should be rich in nutrients, humic and above all well drained. Now you benefit from the peat pots, because these are planted together with the coriander plant. When casting, make sure not to shower your pupils from above.
Tips & Tricks
With a precisely balanced temperature you counteract the dreaded shooting while cultivating coriander. As long as the temperature does not significantly exceed the 20 degree mark of the thermometer, the seedlings develop a compact habit.
