Hokkaido pumpkin brings color to the fall
Usually, summer and winter squashes are distinguished from each other. The bright orange-red Hokkaido pumpkin is one of the winter squashes and can be stored after the harvest for about three to four months. This way, you can still consume a vitamin and nutrient-rich stock in winter.
Harvest from August
The first Hokkaido pumpkins can already mature at the end of July / beginning of August, but their main season has this pumpkin variety in the months of September to November. The actual maturity and thus harvest time depends on the time of sowing in spring and on the weather.
Tips & Tricks
Hokkaido pumpkin is significantly more nutrient-rich than other winter squash varieties. The best way to preserve its high vitamin and mineral content is to cut and freeze the fruit immediately after harvest.
