Feed goji berries properly
If goji berries are planted in a garden, this is usually done less due to the charming looking flowers than with the aim of lush berry harvest. While the respective plant variety as well as the selected location play an important role, the fertilization of these shrubs is rather secondary.

On a sufficiently sunny and warm spot with a well-drained soil substrate, optimum growth conditions are available for the Goji berry. Not so few garden owners banish this plant, after all, just out of their garden, because even with little care, it can sometimes prone to proliferation. Goji berry is not so much a question of nutrient supply as it easily gets by on barren soil. But the roots should be protected from waterlogging with a good drainage.
Compost is sufficient for nutrient supply
For the supply of Goji berries with the necessary nutrients, it is sufficient if once a year some compost is distributed around the base of the bush. If Goji berries are newly planted, deposited compost can also be directly incorporated into the planting hole. At relatively heavy soils, however, should also be made with a little coarse-grained sand for a loosening of the soil structure. If goji berries are really weakened and do not flower, then it is usually not due to insufficient fertilization, but rather to one of the following factors.
Take care when using plant fertilizer
In principle, special berry fertilizers from specialist retailers can also be used for goji berries. In any case, you should make sure that the fertilizer used does not have too high a nitrogen content. This would stimulate the Goji berries otherwise only an excessively strong growth of the plant mass, which is usually accompanied by a lower crop yield.
Tips
Regarding the fertilization of the goji berry with compost from the own garden, care should be taken, for reasons of plant protection, not to deposit cut material from mildew-infested shrubs on its own compost heap, but rather to dispose of it elsewhere.
