The Gleditschia (Gleditsia triacanthos) should be planted as a relatively large tree in individual position. Even the small-sized species are not suitable as hedge planting, as they usually grow eintriebig and can hardly be stimulated by a cut to branch.

How and when can the sleazy be cut?
The loggias are quite fast growing young trees, up to about 1 meter per year, later slower. As a park or street trees, this is desirable. There they are usually cut pyramidal. If you want to keep the sloth slightly more compact in your growth, you should cut the top of the pyramid a bit more blunt, so that the tree is not so strong grows up and instead becomes wider. The shoots below the branch can be broken off. From this, new shoots can develop that serve further branching.

Tips
There are also small-bred varieties of Gleditschia, such as Elegantissima or Globosa, which do not exceed a height of 4-6 meters and are thus also suitable for smaller home gardens.
