Repair the garden shed - small damages are quickly eliminated
It is advisable to subject the garden shed to a regular inventory. Wind and weather but also the use leave their mark, which you should eliminate as soon as possible. Keeping the house well will last much longer. In addition, small repairs can usually be done inexpensively and easily on your own.
To determine which work is necessary, first empty the house completely, clean it thoroughly and then check:
The roof
In order to be able to check the condition of this part of the building, foliage and dirt must first be thoroughly turned away. Are roofing felt, shingles or bricks still stuck, or has the covering come off at one point? Defects that are not obvious at first sight may indicate bright discoloration or moisture inside.
A leak in the roofing felt can be easily repaired with roof paint, cold glue and a few new webs. However, depending on how big the damage, it may be necessary to completely renew the roofing as well as the battens.
The facade
Check both the outside and the inside facade. Morse parts of the wall are replaced, deep cracks and holes sealed with wooden spatula.
At regular intervals, the walls should be sanded and repainted. For exterior use is special weatherproof paint, for the interior use an interior glaze. After priming at least two coats are required to protect the wood well from the weather.
Foundation and ground
Many garden owners neglect the basis of the garden house during the regular inspection. Especially with older arbors, the ground is often sank at one point and the house has therefore no longer stable.
Be sure to straighten the compensation dimensions in this case. Since this is not very straightforward, it may be useful to consult a specialist here.
Tips
With a little skill in the renovation, the rustic morbid charm of an older garden shed can be preserved. This can be the special charm of the arbor, because this look fits very well into natural gardens.
