Can you plant daisies on the balcony?
Daisies are ideal for planting a balcony box or for beautifying your patio. For these plantations mainly the different breeding forms are used. You can buy these plants at will or sow yourself.
You have the choice of making your pots and boxes sound-on-tone or working with contrasts. Bellis perennis can be combined very well with other plants. But you will also find enough different breeding forms and colors within this genus to make interesting variations of the planting.

Although the Australian Daisy is botanically not a daisy, but it is very decorative and is ideal as a balcony plant. According to its color and the similarity with daisies, it is also called Blue Daisy. With a stature height of up to 45 cm, however, it will be much larger.
The filled variety Habanera delights you with filigree flowers. These are white with red tips and about 3 - 6 inches tall. The plant is about 15 cm high and is suitable for smaller pots. With a stature height of about 20 cm, the variety Nibelungen is even suitable as a cut flower for no bouquets.
Wintering of the daisies on the balcony
One-year varieties are simply sown again next year. These include some varieties of the Australian daisy. Two-year varieties usually do not blossom until the second year. Give these plants a bright cool spot in the house or a shelter from too much frost. Some brushwood or leaves are usually enough.
Even in winter, the soil must not dry out completely, otherwise the plants die of dehydration. Therefore, be sure to water your daisies during the frost-free period. Fertilization is not necessary, this is only useful during the growth phase and during flowering.
