Divide Lady's Mantle - down to the smallest detail

When is the best time?
It is rather a period. This is in the spring between mid-February and March. It is important that the dividing is done before the plant expels or when it is in its rest period. Alternatively, the lady's mantle can be shared after its flowering in the fall.

Prepare the lady's mantle
The plant to be split will be excavated with a shovel or a spade. Be generous, so that the plant is not injured. Then remove the excess soil by gently shaking the plant and gently crumbling the soil with your hands. The roots should be recognizable in the end.

Spades should not be used for splitting lady's mantle as with other plants. The reason: Lady's mantle has sensitive fine roots that should not be damaged. If you have the opportunity, take a sharp knife at hand. Clean it beforehand, for example by disinfecting it. Divide the roots of the mother plant once.
Find a place for the new plant
Before the mother plant and the new plant come into place, it is advisable to soak their roots briefly in water such as in the rain barrel or in a bucket of water. Then the mother plant comes back to its place.
