Spathiphyllum, perhaps better known under its common name leaf or leaf, is one of the most popular and probably the most uncomplicated houseplants. When talking about "uncomplicated", this does not mean that the single leaf works entirely without or with only very little care (such as succulents). Instead, it means that Spathiphyllum forgives much and is quite robust.

If you want to do something good for your single leaf and give it optimal growth and flowering conditions, it is best to turn it into a larger pot and fresh substrate every one to two years. Eventually, the plant is certainly mature and will not grow bigger. In this case, although not a larger planter, but still every year fresh soil necessary. Cultivate your monolayer in hydroponic culture, so replace the upper one to two centimeters of the substrate used. This measure is necessary because the exceedingly hungry leaf after one year absorbs all the nutrients present in the substrate and the soil is now simply leached out. In addition, older earth solidifies and thickens, which in turn does not particularly like the roots. They prefer a loose and well-drained substrate.

Tips
Always remember that Spathiphyllum needs to be watered regularly, but it is not allowed to accumulate moisture. Use preferably decalcified water or collected rainwater for casting.
