Diptam multiply: sowing and division
Anyone who has met the Diptam once, will quickly close his heart. Its flowers are simply stunning and its easy-care and unpretentious character make it something special in the garden paradise. How can he multiply?

The most successful is the sharing of this perennial. Contrary to many other perennials, it is not the root system that is divided here, but the rhizomes. The best time has come either in early spring or in late autumn. Attention: At the earliest from the third year of the Diptam is ready for the division. Before that, he is not strong enough yet.
Dig up and divide
First, the plant and its roots are excavated. The rhizomes are exposed and then divided or severed with a knife or spade. Each section, which is later planted and should develop into a new Diptam, should have at least 1 and better 2 buds.
Plant at a new location
After splitting, the rhizome pieces are planted deep at another location. The place should be sunny to partially shaded and protected. It is good to loosen up the soil there and to create a drainage, for example from pebbles.
Sowing: harvest seeds yourself
You can reap the seeds for sowing if you already own a Diptam. Wait until the flowering is over and the fruits emerge with the seeds. When the fruit stalls dry up, the time has come and they can be harvested. This is usually the case with the Diptam between September and October.
Sow seeds properly
This is to be noted:
The seeds should not be stored for long. It is best if you take action immediately after the harvest. Remember: When sowing it takes 3 to 5 years for the Diptam to flower for the first time.
