A brook can flow gently through the garden - and finally tumble down a mountain with a roaring noise and then end in the garden pond. Such a waterfall is not only a visual highlight, but also improves the water quality significantly: The strong movement of the water is enriched with plenty of oxygen, which greatly simplifies the pond care.

There are many ideas for how to build and design such a waterfall. You can make it out of concrete, using earth and pond liner or a wooden scaffold.It can be built steeply falling or rippling down in gentle steps - this is entirely up to your personal taste and the local conditions. Creating the hill
Of course, as a waterfall always falls from an elevated spot, you must first create one. To do this, you pour a mound of earth, for which you can, for example, use the excavation of a pond construction. The soil should be well consolidated so that the hill does not slip later. Keep in mind that the hill can not be higher than the incoming stream - water does not flow uphill, at least not without technical support. Therefore, the stream should flow from the top of the hill, with a slope of two to three percent is completely sufficient. The garden pond, into which the water flows, is again at the lowest point.
