Rest period extends from August to December

From a calendrical point of view, hibernation of an amaryllis ends before the beginning of winter. In order for a knight's star with its exotic flowers to light up the Advent and Christmas period colorfully, the onion in the run requires a rest period. This care is important:

Hibernation is well regulated when temperatures are between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius. Given this dark, dry and cool environment, the onion can regenerate and regain fresh strength for another flowering period.

This is how the hibernation works out

In November, the break is coming to an end. The anticipation of a picturesque knight star flower is increasing. Take a close look at the plant now. Grow out of the bottom opening in the pot roots strands, it is the onion too tight in their pot. Therefore, plant the amaryllis in fresh substrate. From this point on pour regularly again. Tips
