At this location a great lemon balm thrives
In and of itself lemon balm grows in every location, as long as there is no Egyptian darkness or waterlogging prevails. If you want to lure the herb a maximum of aroma, plant melissa on the following layers in the bed and on the balcony.

In the large bucket, commercially available herbal earth is available as a substrate. If you want to mix yourself, use loamy garden soil with a percentage of compost, clay soil, sand and perlite. The addition of polystyrene beads contributes to the loose consistency.

The location may still be chosen with caution; If you plant lemon balm too early in the bed, your impatience will have fatal consequences. Regardless of the hardy constitution, the delicate young plants can not stand up to delayed ground frosts. If necessary, cover the melissa at night with thick garden fleece.
