How to build the cover for a cold frame yourself
Only the cover creates in the self-made cold frame the ideal conditions for seeds and plants. Otherwise, the effect of natural heating evaporates ineffective in the cold air. You can read here how the construction is cheap and uncomplicated.

In order to give your cold frame a weatherproof and stable cover, we recommend the use of prepared Vario temples. This creates a tunnel construction that on the one hand gives your plants enough space to grow and on the other holds the heat of the filling in place. How to mount the cover correctly:
Pull the greenhouse film over the slats, which are connected to the Vario straps. Tack the film first, then screw it onto the wooden slats using the self-tapping screws and nuts. In the area of the Vario brackets, no screws are now used at this time. The cable ties can then be removed. The slat-foil construction is not yet screwed firmly to the Vario brackets, because the side panels are still to string.
To cover the side panels with foil, remove the foil-covered slats from the Vario brackets. Now attach the greenhouse film as sidewalls. This step is easier if you remove the Vario brackets from the cold frame beforehand.Finally, put all the components together and screw the slat foil cover now with the Vario straps.
Tips
A tunnel-shaped cover is the optimal solution for a cold stone bed. In the summer, replace the airtight foil with an insect net to grow vegetables on the bed without heat build-up.
